Vietnam Import-Export Report 2016

The report was established from official information on export and import of each sector and market and the direction of the MIT in monitoring and promoting export and import activities with intensive analysis and forecasts, said Deputy Minister of the MIT Tran Quoc Khanh.

The report provides useful information not only for businesses about commodities and export and import activities but also for managers in field of policy making for a more sustainable import-export  growth.

In 2016, Viet Nam’s total import-export t turnover reached US$175.9 billion, an increase of 8.6% against 2015.

Some 25 commodities were listed in the US$1 billion export club, two more from the previous year.

Viet Nam earned US$22 billion, US$11.4 billion and US$14.7 billion from exporting to China, the Republic of Korea and Japan, witnessing respective increases of 28.4%, 28% and 3.9%.

The nation narrowed the trade deficit with China in 2016 with the import turnover of US$49.9 billion, up only 0.9%.
