20 tháng 05. 2026

According to the Viet Nam News Agency correspondent in Singapore, Viet Nam-Singapore trade in the first four months of 2026 continued to show positive signs, most notably the trade surplus of domestically produced goods from Viet Nam to Singapore reached nearly 5.4 billion SGD (approximately 4.5 billion USD).

This indicates that the potential for exporting Vietnamese goods to the Singapore market continues to expand.

Statistics from the Singapore Enterprise Agency show that in April 2026, Singapore's total trade with Viet Nam reached nearly S$5.3 billion, a 62.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of this, Singapore's exports to Viet Nam reached S$2.5 billion, a 20.9% increase, while imports from Viet Nam reached S$2.7 billion, a 143% increase. Within Singapore's exports, the value of domestically produced goods exported to Viet Nam reached S$882.6 million, a 15.7% increase, and the value of goods temporarily imported for re-export (transit) to Viet Nam reached S$1.7 billion, a 23.8% increase.

In the first four months of 2026, Viet Nam continued to maintain its position as Singapore's 10th largest trading partner. Total import and export turnover between Singapore and Viet Nam reached S$18.8 billion, a 43.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of this, Singapore's exports to Viet Nam reached S$10.2 billion, an 8.9% increase, while Singapore's imports from Viet Nam reached S$8.5 billion, a 133% increase. Within Singapore's exports, the value of domestically produced goods exported to Viet Nam reached S$3.2 billion, a 13.8% increase, and the value of goods temporarily imported for re-export (transit) to Viet Nam reached S$7.1 billion, a 6.8% increase. Considering only goods originating from Viet Nam and Singapore, Viet Nam had a trade surplus with Singapore of S$5.36 billion (equivalent to over US$4.18 billion).

The Viet Nam Trade Office in Singapore noted that three key groups—Electrical machinery and equipment and parts (HS 85); Fuels, petroleum and distillate products; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS 27); and Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical equipment and parts (HS 84)—continue to show high positive growth in both exports and imports. Specifically, HS 85 saw a 3.4% increase in exports from Singapore to Viet Nam and a 149.2% increase in imports from Vietnam; HS 27 increased by 25.8% and 302.5% respectively; and HS 84 increased by 65.3% and 243.3% respectively.
