15 tháng 05. 2026

On the afternoon of May 14th, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular press conference, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang provided information about the upcoming 3rd ASEAN Future Forum to be held in Viet Nam.

Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated that the ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) is an initiative proposed by Viet Nam to create an open, inclusive, and forward-looking space for leaders, academics, and businesses to discuss strategic issues facing ASEAN and the region.

The ASEAN Future Forums 2024 and 2025 were highly successful, receiving widespread attention, support, and positive response from ASEAN countries and partners.

Following that success, the 2026 Forum is scheduled to be held in mid-June in Hanoi with the theme "Shaping a Shared Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, and People-Centered Approach".

The discussions at the Forum will contribute additional perspectives, initiatives, and policy recommendations to support the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, aiming to build a peaceful, cohesive, prosperous, self-reliant, sustainable, and people-centered ASEAN. Currently, Viet Nam is actively coordinating with ASEAN countries and partners to prepare for the Forum.

Earlier, in response to a question about the results of the 48th ASEAN Summit held recently in the Philippines, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Summit was very successful with many important and substantive results, timely in the context of complex developments in the world and the region, especially the crisis in the Middle East.

ASEAN leaders have reached a high degree of consensus on many comprehensive and inclusive response measures, both short-term and long-term, across all pillars, from political -security and economic to socio-cultural, and ensuring the security and safety of ASEAN citizens.

This will not only help ASEAN overcome immediate difficulties, enhance ASEAN's proactiveness and self-reliance, and prepare it to respond to potential future incidents, but also work towards achieving long-term goals under the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

The high-level Vietnamese delegation, led by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, attended and made significant contributions to the success of the Conference.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung put forward many proposals and initiatives contributing to ASEAN's common solutions, to strengthen ASEAN's solidarity and enhance its resilience in responding to the current situation as well as looking towards the future, ensuring that the people benefit from ASEAN's achievements.

Viet Nam's proposals were welcomed, supported, and highly appreciated by ASEAN member states for their content and timeliness.
