Cambodia, Viet Nam strengthen trade ties with MoUs

In a move to expand cooperation with Viet Nam in trade and commerce, Cambodia’s Commercial Office in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday facilitated the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) involving 10 companies from agriculture, agro-industry, tourism, vocational training, and construction sectors.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Touch Sopharath, Ambassador of Cambodia to Viet Nam.

The ceremony was also attended by several national and international guests, particularly representatives from the private sector, demonstrating strong interest in strengthening and expanding trade cooperation between Cambodia and Viet Nam.

On the occasion, Hor Dareth, Commercial Attaché of Cambodia to Viet Nam, welcomed and wished all distinguished guests a Happy Khmer New Year.

Cambodia’s Commercial Office in Ho Chi Minh City reaffirmed its strong commitment to further strengthening and expanding trade cooperation, and to continuing its role as an effective bridge between public institutions and the private sectors of both countries, with the aim of enhancing the business environment, competitiveness, and sustainable economic development.

During her remarks, Ambassador Sopharath highlighted the significance of the Khmer New Year as a valuable cultural identity and an excellent opportunity to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Sopharath appreciated the efforts of the Commercial Office in Ho Chi Minh City, particularly in facilitating and mobilizing business partners to sign MoUs involving companies across key sectors with strong potential for the economic development of both countries.

She further emphasised that the signing of the MoUs represents an important step in promoting trade cooperation, investment, and business connectivity between the private sectors in both countries, making such collaboration stronger and more effective.
