The US and Indonesia officially signed a historic trade agreement

 The President of Indonesia and President Donald Trump have signed a document titled "Implementing the Agreement Towards a New Golden Era for the US-Indonesia Alliance".

On February 20, Indonesia's Ministry of Economic Coordination announced that the country and the United States had officially signed a trade agreement.

The event is the result of months of negotiations, since the US agreed to reduce tariffs on Indonesian exports to the US market to 19% last year, down from the original 32% rate. Specific details of the agreement were not disclosed in the announcement.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto traveled to Washington D.C. to negotiate a trade agreement with the U.S.

During the visit, President Prabowo Subianto and President Donald Trump signed a document titled "Implementing the Agreement Towards a New Golden Era for the US-Indonesia Alliance."

According to information from the White House, this document will help both countries strengthen economic security and promote growth.

Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, US President Donald Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto have finalized a trade agreement aimed at reducing US tariffs on Indonesian goods.

In return, the Indonesian government will facilitate the purchase of approximately $33 billion worth of goods from the United States. For the U.S. side, the agreement aims to expand access to a consumer market of over 280 million people and encourage Indonesian companies to increase imports from the U.S.

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated that the agreement breaks down trade barriers while advancing U.S. economic and national security interests.
