Cambodia exported goods worth $9.8 billion to countries within the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in 2025, marking a 7% year-on-year increase, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce.
The Kingdom’s overall trade with RCEP countries reached $40.2 billion last year, representing 61.68% of Cambodia’s total trade of $65.24 billion, the report stated.
During the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Commerce’s annual meeting on Friday, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said that Cambodia’s trade performance in 2025 remained strong despite global economic uncertainties caused by geopolitical tensions and trade fragmentation.
She said the importance of RCEP as a key market and highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to working with institutions to improve regional and global economic integration and to diversify export and import markets.
The RCEP Free Trade Agreement, which took effect on January 1, 2022, includes 15 Asia-Pacific countries, comprising ten ASEAN Member States and their five trading partners: China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Ministry of Commerce has also encouraged the private sector to fully utilise the benefits of RCEP to help offset potential losses from other trade preferences.
The Ministry continues to implement strategies aimed at strengthening existing markets and expanding into new ones, while maintaining multilateralism based on the principles of rule of law and open markets that allow for flexibility, the Minister added.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia’s total international trade volume in 2025 reached $65.24 billion, representing an around 18% increase compared to 2024.
