Conference: EU Green Deal and its Impacts on Vietnam's export - What businesses need to know

14 tháng 11. 2023

The European Union (EU) is one of the most important markets for Vietnam’s exports. However, the EU is also a world leader in green transformation and emission neutrality efforts, especially within the framework of the European Green Deal (EGD) – an all-encompassing package of green policy initiatives, which covers all sectors of the EU economy with direct impacts on goods imported into this market.

Recent EU regulations on banning the import of certain types of agricultural products from deforested land (EUDR), requiring declaration and payment of carbon emission tax on imported iron and steel (CBAM), on reducing maximum antibiotic and residue limits in imported food, etc. are just some of the many actions taken by the EU to implement the Green Deal. According to the plan, the EU is going to set many other strict green standards for imported goods, including Vietnamese goods. More importantly, many other export markets are also planning to implement similar policies compared with those of the EU.

In order to support manufacturing and exporting businesses to learn, comply and adapt to green standards within the framework of the EU Green Deal, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) in Vietnam organized the Conference:
